Gather on Monday nights from October 12 through November 16 for a time of conversation and learning. Five Marks of a Methodist: The Fruit of Living Faith by the Rev. Dr. Steve Harper will help us to learn about and practice the “distinguishing marks” of a Methodist: what John Wesley understood to be the foundation of discipleship that puts us on the right foot to sustain us for a lifetime of relationship with God and one another.

We will use the book Five Marks of a Methodist by Steve Harper, as well as the Five Marks of a Methodist Participant Guide. We will practice embodying these marks as our way of living in the Methodist Movement, reclaiming our joy and passion of being disciples of Jesus Christ in the world today.

Books are free for group participants 

This class has been approved by the Board of Laity to count as an Advanced Lay Servant Ministry course.​

Brush the cobwebs off of your broomsticks and grab your best not-too-scary costumes for this year’s Downtown Boone Trunk-Or-Treat event! We will be partnering with our downtown business partners to offer a safe trick-or-treating event for our neighborhood kids and families on Thursday, October 22. Last year’s trunk-or-treat welcomed some 2,500 people to the downtown area!

During the month of October, we will be spending time in community and in worship with the Scriptures and John Wesley’s advice for being in relationship with money. Instead of letting material and monetary things control us, the wisdom of God and our ancestors of the faith that is revealed in the Bible and John Wesley’s guidance for the early Methodist Societies urges us to use what we have for the blessings and care of others as expressions of our love for God and neighbor.

Join us in worship on Sunday, October 25 as we mark the conclusion of our Gratitude and Stewardship season with a time of celebration and commitment to God’s call to join in the holy work of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world for the coming year.
